Charter School Scoring Matrix
Legislation was passed during the 2009 Session that requires charter school applicants to participate in training prior to filing an application. To assist charter school applicants in meeting this requirement, the Florida Department of Education will offer training workshops in various locations throughout the state.
The Duval County Public Schools Charter School Office will not provide this training nor does the New Applicant Orientation offered by the Charter School Office meet this training requirement.
Section 1002.33(6)(g), F.S., states that a charter school applicant must participate in training provided by the Department of Education before filing an application. Any individual or group that is planning to submit an application for the 2010 application cycle must participate in one of the trainings scheduled below, even if they participated in the new applicant training last year.
The following trainings have been scheduled for the 2010 application cycle:

Charter school applicants can register for the training on the Department of Education website at: http://www.floridaschoolchoice.org/Information/Charter_Schools/. Please note that if the applicant is a management company or other nonprofit organization, the charter school principal and the chief financial officer or his or her equivalent must also participate in the training.
