Magnet schools give students the chance to attend schools that focus on themes or career areas of special interest to the student. More than 50 schools offer over 30 programs ranging from culinary arts and Montessori to computer science and the medical professions. Students can often follow the same magnet theme from elementary to middle and high school. Transportation is provided within established guidelines.

Procedures: Admission to the program is by application only. We suggest that students begin by choosing a program area of interest. Information can be found at www.magnetprograms.com or by calling the Magnet Programs office at (904) 390-2082. You should familiarize yourself with all program procedures and then file an application for admission to the program by the deadline.

	February:		Feb 4, 18: Magnet Information Sessions Feb 20 from 8 a.m. - Noon: Magnet Application Drop Off at the DCPS Administration Building Feb 26: Application deadline. Applications must be received in the Magnet Programs Office by 4:30 p.m.
